GAD Update: Out of the Darkness.
Out of the Darkness.
Into the light…
Relax, cheer up, it’s a big day. Bobby came out…
(more than one way)
So, here’s some rousing music…. to celebrate:
Following on from “A Day in the Life of GAD“: Out of the Darkness. It would be easy to think that some people live life under a permanent cloud of mental illness. Nothing could be further from the truth. Like physical illness, there are a myriad of types of mental illness. Very individual stories of how people cope. Or don’t. For Bobby, there were often years between bouts. We believe that for some that, with the right help, the symptoms can not only be relieved, but the whole experience can even be life enhancing.
Coming out of the darkness can reveal a world where the sky is bluer, the grass greener, the rainbows brighter, the rain softer. What many take for granted can be life enriching experiences. Lighting a candle to Diddley.
She had a mental illness too. It is called alcoholism. A typically misunderstood, stigmatised condition. Al Anon has helped Bobby. Let’s hope “Heads Together” can help all of us. Enjoy the bluebells. There will be more next week. These two blogs have been a revelation for the writers too. It’s important now to have some fun.
